hi all,
my mate has a p reg mk2 2.5v6 and was suffering from the blower only working on no4.i told him to go and buy a new resistor pack from ford, he did just that today.
but the guy there said the part has been super seeded and he may need to buy a length of wire (must be special as he tried to charge my mate £6 for it.lol)anyhow any1 know what this extra bit of wire is?? or indeed if its needed at all,if it is, would a normal piece do the job spliced into what ever it needs to go into???

just fitted the one my mate got from ford...fitted straight in.
so i dont know what bit of wire the sales guy was on about????

The bit of wire you plug into the resistor can sometimes melt when the resistor blows.

Therefore sometimes you need to replace BOTH.

Never heard of just replacing the bit of wire!

Yep, the wiring on mine has melted. I need to replace both the burnt out pack and a piece of loom.

i got one or two here :d always sell my resistor packs with the piece of loom....

Got both bits for mine yesterday from Ford. Just need to fit it now, I am getting fed up with using the heater on 4 all the time.

Also the wire on the newer bit of loom is thicker to take more amps.
