Looking at the hassles of finding a head unit to replace my 2002 Mondeo's EON 6006E head unit, another option cropped up: a JVC 12-CD MP3 shuttle that can connect to the aerial-in on the 6006E, using RF.

Anyone had experience of something like that? What's the quality like? I'm no audiophile, so I'm quite happy with FM stereo quality.

sending music throught a FM transmitter/modulator isnt a great quality, its ok but NOT great

No worse than normal FM radio though? Because I'm happy with normal FM quality.

For those interested, it works damn well. Sound quality, as far as I can determine, is the same as the built-in CD unit. Very impressed.
