Safest way to crack hub-driveshaft nut?

Just got me thinking, on a car with alloys (like mine) the wheel has to be removed in order to access the hub-driveshaft nut which is torqued up to 340 Nm.

Is there a safe way to crack this with the car on a stand, as it must be if the wheel has been removed?

yeah use a impact gun, my gun is rated at 340nm so will have them off easy and pain free :L
Best way is to get someone to sit in the car and apply the brakes if you want to undo the nut with the wheel off and the hub in the air.

Steve
cheers steve will try that, fred I would love an impact wrench but seriously can't afford one right now :(
the one i bought of ebay was i think 19.99 delivered for the brand new impact wrench, so not bank breaking, but it makes the job easier,

but as steve says, go for that method, as it doesnt involve buying the impact gun but more force involved, good luck with it :)
lol fred I thought they were 150 quid plus :}
I have got a 3/4" short breaker bar though, works nice with a bit of scaffold pole slipped over the handle. Was just worried that the car might fall off the stand with only 3 wheels on the ground.
what about putting the spare wheel on if its a steel should be able to get to it then and leave the car on the floor
Cracking idea fella! Cheers :L
alloys even ones with exposed wheel nuts should still have a centre cap that pops out that a 32mm will fit into?
i can attack hubnuts with my centre cap removed on my alloy :)
