Hi Macmondy. As to your Rover engine. If your car is pre 1990 then its the M series as fitted to the Rover 800. The M series became the T series after some improvements were made. Both very similar tho and bullet proof. Makes me wonder if your car is a GSi which was top spec. Never had the 400 series but the 216 vitesse was a brilliant car. A VDP Rover V8 was sublime. I had the 2.5 V6 Sterling then the 2.7 V6 vitesse. Also the 2.0 litre turbo Vitesse. All brilliant cars and i had tons of fun with each. Oh what memories lol.

Had several SD1's 2.6 first then a couple of V8's. Bought the Rover 825i afterwards
that was quite mad. Looked boring in dark blue with steel wheels and plastic trims.
But could easily match an Escort Turbo with a far higher top speed, 135mph had
something like another 2500rpm before the redline started.
It was an auto but would spin its wheels in 2nd with torque steer that could change
lanes if it was damp. It would do close to 70mph in 2nd.
My journeys were short and by the end of the week it got a little tappety so started
jumping on the motorway and holding it in 2nd for a junction which stopped the
tappet noise. Probably where i started changing the oil more often to help engines
last longer.

I must be going senile or similar. I actually did have 2 400's. 1st a 416 SLi which I didn't like so after a month or so swapped it for a 420 GSi a great car which was quick and fast. Had that a good couple years but only got rid cos I had to get a new windscreen but the fitter told me he couldn't guarantee it wouldn't leak because where the glass met the car it was rusty. Swapped it for a MG Montego 2.0 injection. Ooooh what a good car. Blimey a Ford forum talking Rover lol

Went for a ride in my mates dads car, a Rover P5 coupe v8, I'll never forget it.We were kings of the road, until a MG Maestro turbo overtook us. If I had the space and more money, these are the cars that I would devote my time to ,IMHO

I agree with you Jack ???? I very nearly bought a white 2yr old MG Maestro turbo. But I got the ultimate audi. The awesome UR Quatro which I kept for 7 years. Stolen recovered twice.

I was going to buy a Montego Turbo, but put off when the seller (a garage) said the
previous owner only sold it because it kept getting nicked. The guy lived around the
corner from me.
Thought no point having a car and filling it with fuel for someone else to drive whilst
I took the bus to work. Thats when i Bought the Rover 825i

Bought a rover 400..r reg...has the 2.0 twin cam...can hit almost 70 in 2nd gear..
Only 2 of these 2.0 left...
Currently has a power steering leak..quite bad..

The rover has blown it's steering rack..probably the pump aswell ..giong to see if the guy who doe's my mondeo mot can fix it..sorry fix her..

This is my non-ford. It's only a 1.3 so not that quick 
. I painted it myself as i can't help myself when ever i buy a bike i have to get it looking how i want it.
I also have a full set of matching luggage that i sometime use. It has full 1080p HD cameras front and rear.
The front suspension has been uprated and a Maxton rear shock fitted to.
It has a sat-nav, Yoshi exhausts and Brembo front calipers.
It has some other small mods as well.
I've not messed with the engine as it's quick enough for me on the road.
I also have 2 of the last model Kawasaki ZX9R's.
The wife also has a Suzuki Sv650s & Yamaha XJ6F.
We enjoy going for rides where it's just the both of us.

Its had 12 coats of clearcoat. The decals are under the clearcoat and you cant feel them.
I put a lot of hours into getting a top paint job. My other bikes are the same.
