hi, firs mod i did was to get some crystal side repeaters. i went with the sealed ones with the amber led's in but they have faded yellow and have water in them :annoyed: this is only after 6 months. has anyone got a set that dont suffer from this. is it worth just getting the crystal one that take a 501??

Which brand were those? There is a German company that does e-marked LED types, they are expensive and I would sure be pissed if they failed like that. I'd be on the warpath wanting me money back.

I've gone through this and I've concluded the standard Ford crystal repeaters are the best, use with chromed amber 501 bulbs if you want, would use LEDs but I can't find any of the all-around bright SMD types that would fit (not much space in there). I have dipped the tips of my amber bulbs in thinned silver paint to avoid cutting the light as much as possible.

i got them of ebay. tbh i never noticed they were led and needed wiring.were about £20 for a pair. ebay hasnt got the seller info now cuz its too old. how much are the ford ones and arnt the chrome amber bulbs alot duller?
I have the LED ones fitted to my Mondeo, been fitted for 16 months now, with no problems
I have just ordered some clear side repeaters to replace my amber ones. Got them for £8 including free amber bulbs as well as P&P.
I am quite excited, I think they will look rather nice with the panther black.

Yes that's why I abandoned them and dipped my own so as not to cover the entire bulb.

The Ford ones are cheap, I got 'em for about 7 quid from a wreckers including bulb holders + amber bulbs, they're not expensive new either from what I understand.

Yep they look good :L
...but the fried egg look might get to ya unless you do what I've done above :)
I got the ones in the above post with the pics from eblag for around £9, 2 days later they where full of water... load of s**t if you ask me.

Going to beg/borrow/buy/steal some OEM Ford ones.
I'll let you know when I get them, if they are off poor quality and build, I will go with ford ones. I had intended to, but considering a parcel shelf string cost me approx £9, I did not dare ask how much they would cost.
If you mean my post with the pics, they are Ford OEM lights, you can even see the Ford logo in the unlit pic :L

I don't see the point in buying non-Ford ones, as the Ford ones are easily available from wreckers and are not all that much more new from Ford! It's only if you want to dally with LEDs that you'd need aftermarket lenses.
think i will do the same. no breakers by me have newer models so doubt i will et ford ones
Ahhh , ok , sorry , didnt see they where Ford ones. The ones I got look exactly the same but obviously of much lower quality.

Dont suppose you have the part number for those do you ? as when i went to Ford parts there where about 4 different ones ??
2x 1379375 should see you with new ford items of the above pictured lenses :)

( thats what i bought recently ready for when i finally clean the car & remove the white ones i have on at present :} ( cost £10.44 or somat daft like that all in :L ) ( dont be put off by the dealer saying they no longer supply them as singles like my dealership tried to do & instead gave a different £25 set of parts  but giving em that number brought the lenses required the very same day :L )
Well it has been about 6 days and they are still looking amzing. Broke an Id Card putting the side repeaters on they really do make the car stand out. So far they have stood up to a few rain falls and two car washes since last week.
