Hi people, i did post a post a while back when i first got the car but again it was new so wanted to find out how the car drives and starts etc so left it for a while BUT..

i still have a little prob guys.

Once in a blue moon she will be hard to start, just to give you a idear, this week she has been fine and the car had been started aprox 30+ time with in the week and it will start on the button so to speak, this morning i got up got in the car to get my hair cut ( :content: ) , and from cold it started first time, only drove aprox 3-5 min, parked up, got my hair cut, after 15min come back to car and it took about 3-4 sec of cranking on the starter for it too start, turn engine off start again on the button

When this does happen and she turns over for about 3-4 sec it will start but will catch at about 300rpm on the starter then fire up at 800rpm, like there is a lack of fuel or fuel psi etc

I know my IMRC box is playing up ie some times it works some times it dont ( being replaced thursday with new one ) , is there a chance that in a blue moon it could get stuck open casuing this or do you guys think its a elec or fuel prob.

Its had a new fuel filter.

I cant see it being a leaky injectors as you can do 200 miles turn off and try to start and it can some times do it then when the engine is red hot after the engine stoping for 1-2 sec, and its only every now and then.

Every time i get in i wait for the fuel pump to prime ( about 3 sec ) and then start it prime's every time.

Any info please people.

Coils pack, in my experiance with Mondeo's (and I've had a fewnow) starting problems have 99% of the time (for me anyway) have been the crank sensor.
Sounds like it's just flooding, happens quite a lot if the engine is switched off cold and easily done considering these big lumps take a while to warm up.

Ok but when this prob does happen, i crank it over for about 4 sec and she wont fire up on to 800-900rpm she will just catch at 300rpm then in aprox 1 sec go in to life and 800rpm etc, this would be more of a fuel thing wont it as a spark is either there or not?

But again i came back from a 80mile trip, 60mile in to the trip i stoped at a little shop, the engine was red hot ( normal temp ) , and had been turned off for aprox 2-3 min, then it done it when i went to start it.

If it was flooding that would take a lot of fuel to flood in 3 min with a hot engine and most would evaporate?

Not saying your wrong guys just trying to look on the other side of things etc.
