Really like the style of them over the standard shitty ones. Is it possible to swap them over??

If you were to fit the ST220 dials directly in you would find you speedo would be out as the ST220 goes round to 270mph on the clock, though there maybe a way around this (doubt it though).

One option you do have is replace the dial faces white something like a Lockwoods white dial kit, these are designed as a straight replacement for the original dials.
270mph???? Whoops, i meant 170mph :whistling:
I fitted ST220 cluster on my old car 2.0 petrol, they worked perfectly, checked with gps.

The only thing you will have to do is blank off the
TCS port in the cluster to stop it having any illumination.

And also try and get a speedo from a pre 2003 car.
Hey why would it be important to get one from a pre 2003?
Hey just checked your garage and liking your mk3 mondeo with the cosworth inlet and throttle body.

Whats the spec of your engine and whats it producing? you got a build thread?
I stand corrected, Learn something new every day
Does the rev counter work properly a 4 cylinder engine with a 6 cylinder rev counter?

+1

Even if it does, I would suspect the red-line is set to a different position to the 4-potters.
i have had a 2.5 V6 speedo cluster on my mota for a good 2 years + now ( well from 51k on its display & its coming up on about 77k now i think - if not already past :} )

the revs are fine ( tested against the normal positions of it on the old cluster & also against the digital rev guage too )

& the speedo works fine too ( again digital readout confirms as does the GPS ) ( & the 220 though having more numbers on its face has been reprogrammed to accept them extra digits so will work spot on when fitted into a standard car as the feed the speedo uses to know what speed ur doing is the same on both cars etc ( now if you stuck the ST speedo face onto the normal dash cluster you would have issues but not if using the full ST cluster :L )

but as mentioned above, you will need to block off the hole for the traction control/esp warning light as it will be lit constantly in the 1.8 ( as mine is from the 2.5 V6 ) as it cant find the control module it expects as the 1.8 aint got one :} ( nice easy 2 minute job for before you dismantle your car to remove the old cluster really )

Remember that these dials are digitally feed. They'll show whatever the feeds tell them to.

The car lives in Scotland now.

The engine was a 2.0 duratec, with Cossy 200 spec cams installed, along with the Cossy inlet and Cossy TB,enlarged bore exhaust downpipe and flex pipe, with cat back twin exhaust, and a custom dreamscience map.
It made 177bhp.

If you want to know how i did anything just send a PT.
Mick :)
