My 98 Mk 2 LX has a problem with the driver side rear door. The double locking has not released so the door is stuck shut. There is no noise from the lock assembly when I turn the key, so I assume the problem lies somewhere other than in the stuck lock. Question is, where do I start tracing? Would it be in the drivers door or back at the main relay/fuse board?

from other threads it will be the lock mechanism i fear , i cant remember if you can get the door card off without butchering it or not though :sad:

Liberal dose of PTFE cycle maintenance spray through the lock handle and a lot of rattling has freed off the deadlock, but looks as though the lockin motor has also seized. At least I can now strip off the door card and investigate properly.......
