Hello all!

This is my first post after many years of reading the advice and information on this forum - I'm on my third Mondeo: Mk3 51 plate Zetec (crashed), Mk3 05 plate Ghia X and now a 14 plate Tit X Bus Ed estate Powershift.

I'm looking to mod the current Mondy a bit but struggling to source the bits and wondering if they exist. The power is fine but I find it a bit too wallowing. I'd like to source a stiffer rear ARB as well as some progressive springs but NOT ones that lower the car. Reason for this is to keep the ride height the same or, preferably, a bit higher to accommodate some larger wheels and tires (and thus creating a speedo/odometer issue which I'll need to work out how to sort).

Any thoughts on this as a plan initially? Any ideas on where such parts might be found or which other non-Mondeo parts might work to do the job safely?

Ta!

Self levelling suspension? Are the springs and shocks in good order?

Possibly the suspension from the sportier models? You dont say what engine?

When moving up a tyre size say 17" to 18" you usually go to a lower profile, ie 17" 50 profile

to a 18" 45 or 40 profile. This gives very similar overall sizes which keeps the speedo within

spec.

It's the 2L 163bhp engine. Springs and shocks are all working fine as they are and the car is social and domestic only - it's doesn't get huge hammer. Was hoping for a reasonably simple solution and getting involved with self-levelling seems more complicated than necessary. Changing the suspension really would only be to and a little firmness to complement a stiffer ARB and to reduce the chances of a larger tire fouling when compressed - I did wonder whether support springs used for load-carrying would achieve this.

I would like to put some larger diameter tires on larger wheels in order to not overly firm the ride up - I'm only looking to make subtle changes to the ride to make it feel a bit more lively whereas the wheels and tires are purely aesthetic - filling up those wheel arches with some bling!

I was asking if it already had the self levelling suspension.

Check the ETIS link in my signature below, does it say self levelling or with Attitude/Ride Height Pack?

My car is the Business Estate and shows Sports tuned suspension less the Less Attitude/Ride Height Pack.

Mine doesn't feel sloppy even with the 2/3rds of the way to the moon mileage.

I have tried the ETIS link but the only information it gives is this:

Mondeo 2007-2014, 2.0L Duratorq DOHC(150/163PS)-DW10C, Panther Black (Metallic)

and it also tells me there are no messages about the car.

How do you use this website to find out more than this, please?
