Hi guys so I have bought a yellow ex JCB 2005 ford ranger.

I just removed the tachometer thinking ah just cut wires and pull it out. My bad lol my odometer now is not working so I'm assuming this wire goes to the ECU? I traced it under the hood but it went down behind the engine does anyone know how I can fix my problem? With pictures? Thanks in advance.

Ps

Smaller problems no air-conditioning revs change when I press switch.
Can you make the key one. Ie not a fob and key?

i'd imagine the speedo cluster is linked to the ecu. I think the transits are similar if you remove the tacho and fit normal clocks.

Speedo info for the cluster commes either from a sensor in the gearbox (normally in the same place as you'd find a speedo cable) or taken off the abs rings in the bearings or on the cv joints.

As for the keys, you can often remove the chip for the immobiliser and fit it into a 3 button key, or a jag flip key. (info in mk3 mondeo fordwiki)

Aircon, normally a lack of refrigerant will disable the aircon, including the clutch on the aircon compressor, so if the compressor is engaging it is possibly another fault...
