Tdci ecu updating

626 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Splop.
I have a Tdci mondeo, running fantastic considering on 170k, only ever changed egr pipe and cam sensor in last 90k.(injectors done just before i bought it.)
It was always seviced by ford upto 90k but since then by my local garage.
I have heard that the ecu is supposed to be updated every so often to improve running and also take into consideration wear and tear, is this true? Mine not plugged in for last 90k.
The reason i ask is that it defo slower than it was, and idles slightly wobbly, but runs as smooth as ever.

Thanks.

Hi, i would leave it, alot of people ,after updates have problems, if it runs fine, leave it. :)
if your happy with the way its running leave it! or treat it to a bluefin remap!

+1

Although CNL and R-Tech are popular at the moment, as they're cheaper than Bluefin and just as good. :L
