Long time lurker , first time poster.

Just trying to figure out this problem and need advice . I have a tddi engine with what im sure is a variable geo turbo . I need to know how to go about a bleed valve and boost gauge with this set up . Am i right in saying i can attach a T joint here and run a vacuum hose to a boost gauge from this pipe marked in the picture.

If you bleed air from that pipe (its a vacuum pipe) the variable vanes will close

and you will lose power low down or higher up. No gain in power at all.

Bleed valves work by leaking boost off to fool the ECU/controller into thinking the

pressure is lower than it really is.

The vacuum pipe doesnt know what the boost pressure is, the MAP sensor on

the lower pipe reads the pressure.

If you want to fit a boost gauge you can drill the EGR or get a fitting that fits into

a rubber pipe with sealing washers. Or get a reader that uses the OBD port which is

easier.

F-Super will

I prefer the older F-Super with Formidable software but its not been updated for

many years now.

Another F-Super -2 uses different software and gets updated, there is a thread in it

and i think its the programmer? also posts.

A few have said the Forscan ones good but picky on the adapter as it used ELM327

based chipsets and there are clones of clone out there.

Different chipsets in the OBD tools and the software from one wont work on the other.
