The transmission for a high torque engine?

The DAF system claimed to always be at the right gearing for the high point of an engines torque, I remember Ford AVO building some Capri 3ltrs for motocross use back in the late 70s, i bet they didnt need DMFs!

The DMF is a curse, an answer to transmission parts failure caused by thier engines high torque when they COULD have beefed up the parts and used a normal flywheel...

Possibly, but you should see the transmission shunt on a Discovery 300TDi and this is an improvement on the 200TDi!

People demand smoother, quieter more comfortable cars and the cost is having to replace the DMF with the clutch.
