traction control light comes on every morning

I have almost the same problem. Sometimes I don't get te the problem for a couple of weeks. Sometimes I get it a couple of times a week. Also when the ESP light comes up my windscreen wipers activate, even though they are turned off. Also I can't use my other functions of the steering wheel, like the indicators, cruise controle, etc. After some time driving, turning of the ignition and starting the car again, most of the times the problem is gone. My dealer can't find what causes the problem. And as of a couple of weeks ago the car is no longer in warranty, so now they let me pay for maintenance. Very frustrating...

The fact the fault was reported and not repaired before the warranty ran out, should mean you don’t pay for the fault to be repaired. Contact Ford Customer service to log the issue now. 0800 166 166

I think it sounds a little more than the wheel sensors if you’re getting other erroneous faults too, like communication corruptions between devices, though this should be minimised in the error correction built in to the communication protocol. Its more likely to be something in a common unit that all these devices communicate with such as the central junction box. Not easy to find, but the guys at the garage if they are familiar with the communication system should be able to pin it down a common unit which looking at some drawings looks like the central junction box (behind the glove box). With so much going wrong which are unconnected with each other in their operation, I’d be plumbing to change that first or at least investigate it. Could be loose connection or electrical dry joint whch tend to show themselves when temperatures are at extreems. As a matter of interest, try turning the heater on full to warm the area up and see if that induces it.
But with all due respect to the technicians, they don’t inspire me that they use lateral thinking.

The strange thing is it happens randomly, no mather what is the temperature. It occurs in winter and summer. It is always when the car hasn't been used for some time. Mostly during starting when going to work or at the end of the day when I want to go home from work. When I bought the car (second hand) an after market xenon set was installed. The guy of the reception at the dealer says this might cause the problem. I talked to the mechanic who looked at my car and he said to me he doesn't think this causes the problem. But he hasn't got a clue of what could cause it then. They said to me, not in so many words, that they would have done more for me if I had bought the car at their dealership. I bought the car at another car dealer (non-Ford) a long drive from where I live. Because I still had factory warranty, I thought it should be sufficient to go to the dealership at my hometown. It really sucks that they don't help me better. The car is wonderful, except the problem, but I don't think it will ever be a Ford for me again... :angryfire:

That is a shame. They should still respect the fault as under warrany as its not been resolved.

I was thinking more of trying to introduce the fault by virtue of changing temperature, as this can usually encourage poor connections to show up. I have a hair dryer for such things (not a heat gun as that melts things).

But looking at the circuit diagram, all the functions your describing as coming on are all fed directly into the central junction box and no where else.

Get ford to agree to let the garage to look at properly I guess.

Thx for your input. The last two weeks I didn't get the problem, but when it will appear again I think I will contact Ford Netherlands for it.
