A random thought occured to me this morning (I am now tired as a result. :} )

Is it possible to fit a 2nd turbo to the tdci?

why, just fit one larger hybrid turbo with a decent intercooler setup.

twin turbo setups are more for 6 cylinder plus, larger CC engines.

there is plenty of 4-pot turbo's putting out 400-700bhp plus with a single turbo.

going twin is OTT complicated for the sake of it, alot more to go wrong.
i think the ecu would be the restriction and then theres the fueling issues. and theres not a lot of room to fit them. i had a hell of a job making a vnt 20 fit with a custom manifold

I agree with Graemwelth - there is not enough a space for the second turbo . . . .but a pity . . .- zombi
On the thought of this now it's here is there a turbo from any other car that is bigger that could be made to fit a tdci
markderby reckons the tdci 130 (same as 2.2) turbo is good for upto 250bhp so unless your planning on going further its a bit pointless plus you would need a custom manifold made to fit the 2 and lots of extra pipework.

zetec1983 the tdci 130 turbo is called a GT1749v you can get a hybridised version (either of your own or they will make you one) it gives a bigger impeller wheel and bigger compressor wheel i believe 18/20 id expect the impeller is the smaller one. midland turbo can do this. the cheapest option is to do it to your own turbo they would basically recondition the unit and fit the uprated parts. but they do a service which ive used on my GT2049s they will make the modifications and ring you when its ready to be shipped (next day delivery) for payment and then you put yours in the box and phone them up to pick it up. all included in hte price and no surcharge.

the trouble is though seeing what markderby has had done to his (we talked loads about his car) and he hasnt touched the standard turbo so i think the turbo is the last modification that should be considered. and an upgraded clutch should be considered before the turbo too.

the same turbo GT1749v is fitted to some tddi models also
