hey guys need to know asap if my gear box is hydraulic or cable orperated ?

its a 1994 si 2.0

the reason being that i am about to buy a 1.6 gear box that is cable operated....

take the air box out if you got one look on the top of the box you cant miss it if its cable

checked today and i dont see any cable? i hope it is but i didnt see any, what else hsud i be lookin for?

Mk 1 Mondeos were fitted with a rod operated transmission, whereas Ford switched to a cable operated transmission when they launched the Mk 2.

not all mk1's are cable operated i know that someone pointed that out to me the other day cant remember what thread though.

Mk 1 Mondeos were fitted with a rod operated transmission, whereas Ford switched to a cable operated transmission when they launched the Mk 2.
That is the gear linkage you are talking about, the clutch was changed to hydraulic on cars from around late 94 onwards.
