Hi all

The car is a 2011 Mondeo 2.0 120kw
Was bought used and the aux heater (Webasto ThermoTop V Evo) didn`t work, gave out a fault about the heater units fan.

Bought a refurbished unit that is said to work but now we get:

AHCM: U0300 Code - Internal Control Module Software Incompatibility
IPC: U0166 - Lost communication with aux heater control module

It seems the car came from factory with the webasto option, but i haven`t found a good vin decoder yet to confirm that, wiring looks stock.

Do i have to teach the "new" webasto unit to the car via Forscan somehow?

As much as i have found on google it would seem that if the car has the option activated already that shouldn't be the case.
(Aux heater options can be found on the menus, it just wont start)

Maybe someone here has fitted one from the junkers and knows about it?

So you swaped the whole unit? Was the new one from a car of the same type?
Did you simply clear the dtc and see if they came back?

Swapped the unit
New one came from a mk4 mondeo, but the part number isnt the same.
Yes cleared the dtc and after that got the above mentioned codes.

Thinking that maybe i have to pull the asbuilt info from the old unit and write it on the new ?
