just done a mates escort td screw in pump 90 degrees in and the on boost one 2 turns out. then i shortened the wastegate arm by 2 full turns which i thought would have given me more boost but the car is actually slower now than when it was standered so now i am very confused anyone have any ideas i would love to hear them as i am now stumped

Turn them the other way :) (actually, not sure - I take it you have checked against the sticky at the top of the Diesel Secion?)

Has anything changed, like the idling speed (up or down)?

reset your changes and do one thing at a time start with the screw on the pump.
