1999 I got mine, still got it now!
Not had my current car very long. 6 months in fact. I kept my MK1 for 7 years before selling and i've had 5 MK2s since.

You beat me, is it still a daily runner?
I think i got the grey mk1 in october 2003, and the black mk1 i've had for 3-4 years. Not planning on getting rid of either.
Had K240 for 3 years, but it's being part ex'd for a Mk3 tomorrow.
Got mine in Sept 2003, Brother had it before me in Jan 2001.
My sensible head says that I'll be keeping it until it dies as it's been converted to run on LPG. But I keep thinking about getting something else...we'll see.

part-ex'd at a dealer/traders? they'll give you sod all for it and you wont get the discount off the mk3 for no part-ex.

for example i had a mk2 fiesta, was offered £700 part-ex off a £2700 nissan. so i sold the fiesta for £900 private, and went back for the nissan and he let me take it for £2400 and he taxed it.

this meant i was £600 better off, and i felt better that i hadnt effectively just given him the fiesta for nothing.

I thought that too, especially as the book price according to Parkers is 20 quid! :}

Then from out of the blue he offered to use it to cover the deposit, 12 months tax and a optional 12 month warranty that covered every mechanical part on the car, stating that in his opinion Parkers were taking the P*ss.

Technically, we got £450 for a car worth £20
Although not always technically owned by us, my car has been in the family since new - dads company car first, then mums, now mine :)
Had mine for 2 and half years, prob wont sell as will get nowhere near as much as I've ploughed in back. That's modifying for you. Plus it appears, it's quite hard to put a value on mine.
May just run it till it goes tits up, strip it and flog all the bits (which'll be worth fook all by then) and then end up with a Skoda Rapide!

Is it bugger. It's been sat in my parents garage since 2004. It'll be coming out of hibernation later this year though I think.
Ive had mine for 7 years longest i had a car tbh
use to get shot after 6 months max but i love it and has never let me down always passes an mot first time and starts evertime
and i am the second owner
only had my st200 for about 3 weeks lol, but my other v6 ( if any one can rember it ) i had for about 3 years, all in the mondeo is a fantasic car :)
Had my mk1 for 7 years 2nd owner & never had any trouble with it
Bought mine on 31st March 2003 - seven years to the day! Picked it up for £3295, with 66k on the clock. Now done 127k.

No intention of getting rid of it for the foreseeable future, either. For one thing, I've not got the money, and even if I did there are other things I'd do with it. But for another thing, it is still comfortable and reliable, reasonably cheap to run, and does everything I need. In fact, the only thing I don't like about it is the pitiful fuel usage (I hesitate to say 'economy'!) around town. But I only do around 7-8k p/a anyway.

Quite surprised to see there are a few who've owned their cars even longer.
Bought my V reg ST24 january 2000 had 3 miles on the clock from PDI , still running like a dream 10 years later with 164000 on the clock and never failed an mot :) ive said it before by far the best car ive ever owned
Got mine March 2003 for £575 it had 127,000 miles on the clock, its now on 181,000.Never let me down and its the best car we have ever owned. It looks better now than when we bought it.
Bought mine back in 2002 with 85k on the clock, theres 154k on the clock now, done loads since I bought her, no plans to get another Mondy, she`s too good to part with :)
