The aux input in my glove box sounds like a karaoke track when I play music through it. At first thought it was my phone, but it's the same on multiple phones and with different leads.
I wanted a SatNav anyway, so was thinking seriously about fitting a cheapish Android head unit (around the ÂŁ200 mark) with built in SatNav that will connect to my phone through a WiFi hotspot or BlueTooth for streaming music from Amazon / YouTube etc. rather than use the aux input.
Do these head units simply plug straight in or will I need a mountain of adapters and extra wiring harnesses?
I currently have a Motorola bluetooth aftermarket system plugged into the wiring loom between the car and the stereo that will be removed. This used to play music through the aux input via bluetooth well on my Mk 3, but has been no end of problems on the Mk 4 (not least since the Mk 4 doesn't have a direct sweitched feed from the ignition, so had to alter the wiring of the kit to pick up on the cigarette lighter, meaning it stays live for a few minutes after turning off the ignition)
