it has to come off, the job looks worse than it is. raise the front of the car ( i drive mine up onto ramps) so you can get underneath, remove the 8 bolts with a ten mill socket, only takes 5 mins and the cover comes off revealing all

Forty quid for an oil change is a bargain. I buy 25 litre 5/30 w semi from my local motor factor, it's about 60 quid

Yes i think so because the drain hole is at the rear of the sump
