do the focus' not come with them as fitted by the manufacturer, some mk1/2 mondeos have the wiring, and bulbholders but no bulbs, some get the connector for the wiring, and some have all wiring, connectors and bulbs and the reason they don't work is the bulbs are blown...

Mondeos have the 5w wedge type bulbs in them, easily replaceable with led's, if not got any wiring for them, would you not be better wiring them to the interior light?

As siruncle says, you want to be taking a feed from the interior light, across the headlining, down the A-pillar and into the footwell. You don't need to go anywhere near the battery for this.

But do check as some Mk1 Foci do have the wiring already taped up inside the footwell, in which case you just want bulb holders and bulbs.

and failing that, a few mondys down the scrapyard will be able to assist with bulbholders etc...

They would be clipped to a loom under the dashboard, but nearer the centre console. You'll probably only see the connectors to give you a clue.

Just done it. I decided to wire it straight from the overhead interior light as I wanted the lights to dim out as I shut the doors. I couldn't find anything obvious what so ever in the footwells though!! Owell good job well done and thanks for the help
