Diesel injectors or glow plug's

Recently my mondeo tdci 115bhp as been struggling to start. What happens when I start the engine it won't rev as high as it should and sounds like it's going to stall, the battery and engine light's stay on longer. And then it as a surge of power and it revs as it should but kicks out a lot of blue smoke, if someone was to stand behind they would be covered, but after the car drives perfectly and starts as it should.

Hi Keith,

If it doesn't respond to the throttle at all then it's most likely the MPD Update. See: http://www.talkford.com/topic/220664-startup-immobilizer-smoke/

If it does respond to the throttle then glow plugs are a possible.

PCM update issues....

Poor throttle response when cold for maybe 30 seconds (but easy to start)

Wont start once hot (7 or 8 tries)

Smoke was never an issue due to PCM problem

Id say its an injector fault

Starter motor. Mine went the same way

Well most of the time its when the temperature as dropped low over night, 1'c/ 3'c but if the temperature is average then it starts perfectly
