What's kinda weird is that these Halford Extreme Billiance bulbs got beaten by the cheaper Halfords Super Brilliance bulbs!

The wwacky and wonderful world of headlight bulbs :)

I have Philips extreme in the headlamps and philips 100w rally in the high beams and they are the dogs danglies. People will say they will overload your wiring etc. but mine have been in for @ a year now and all is well no melting or any overheating :smoking:

I hope your luck continues. Don't forget that the extra load will be vastly adding to the voltage drop on already thin wires making the bulbs much dimmer than they should be.
sorry if this is getting off topic:

Jonsen, do you think if i put a relay behind each bulb and ran the relay from the battery that the bulbs would be brighter? As i might give it a try :kaffeetrinker_2: or would one relay do the job?

right my project shall begin by getting 4 of these from maplin. I will get some 4mm wire from work and some crimp on terminals. What size fuses should i use to feed the relays from the battery?

Seeing as Philips don't seem to do an 'X-treme Power' H1 bulb, does anyone think the following will be OK together?

Dipped Beam: H7 Philips X-treme Power Bulbs

Main Beam: H1 Philips VisionPlus Bulbs

Foglights: H1 Philips VisionPlus Bulbs

Has anyone tried the hid (style) bulbs off eBay? Crystal White or somethin?

Hi
I asked the question when I got my Mk3 as to what bulbs I needed to improve the lighting, the forum said the Osram Night Breakers H1 & H7 All I can say is that they are
Absolutely Brilliant...... :first:

No pun intended

I have switched to nightbreakers after using the halfords extreme brilliance +90s and to be completely honest the halfords bulbs are better. They both produce much more light than the standard bulbs but the beam on the halfords bulbs just goes that little further.

hi everyone, i have been reading this thread and i was looking at the halford bulbs as i think the bulbs i have on my car arnt fantastic, the thing im worried about is that the lights melt!!

What bulb do i need with out upgrading the lights, matter of interest how much is it to upgrade??

How do you change bulbs at the front??
