How to stop car steaming up

I've not got a problem with the car steaming up all the time but it seems that once it starts to rain the car slowly starts steaming up and I have to push the windscreen max button (this clears it all again). Also when I start the car it sometimes steams the windscreen up for a few seconds.

Basically looking for anything I can do to help prevent this. Are there such things as boot vents that could be blocked? How about a blocked water drain?

I've replaced the pollen filter and didn't notice any change, also reset the climate control and will be booking in the car to have aircon regassed shortly.

Any ideas?

From what i have read on here, there can be several places for leaks, the door seals are popular, also the plastic under the windscreen that covers the pollen filter may not be tight up against the screen (that was my leak), also the window seals too. There are probably plenty more, those are the ones ive read about so far.

Perhaps you could try leaving your car running for a while with you outside to prevent you accidentally steaming it up (when I get in my car and I'm wet with rain the driver's side mists up lol). Run it with the aircon on only for ten minutes, and then do this with recirc on only.
The car should stay clear with the aircon, and may mist up with recirc to some extent. If the car mists up with recirc on and its a dry day outside then you have water in your car somewhere. This water could have leaked in from the pollen filter cover when you changed it, from door rubber seals, or from rain entering the car when you opened the doors/windows in the rain. It may be coming into the car via a broken inner door skin membrane which is a common thing on mondeos. you would need to remove the door cards to check this (water often comes in around the speaker molds if the they have been disturbed).

You may also have water in the rear of the aircon system. this also is quite common. The issue with this water it that it stagnates and thus becomes full of bacteria, which can give you headaches or a feeling of being unwell on long journeys. It may be worth buying an aircon bomb and running this in your car for the stated time. This can't do any harm and may remove some of the water (if any) in the aircon system that can build up over time. If the car has water in it generally (on the floor etc) the windows will mist up when the sun hits them in the morning and the car warms up.

Oh last idea for now. Make sure the drain holes in the base of the doors are unblocked. They are on the bottom edge of the doors between the door cards and the outer skin, and can often get blocked with dirt etc.

Just a few ideas

I have no idea how a re gas could clear water in itself. Water generally collects in cars (speaking generally, not just mondies) during the cold weather as the aircon is not being run. If the aircon is run regularly then then water will form less often. The water forms in the 'air' side of the aircon and not in the 'closed' gas side.

Also can be the recirc flap that can get stuck .try opperating the switch and seeing if any movement . You can see if it moves if you have the pollen filter out.

Might have something to do with your glass. For example if you've recently had screen changed could be a hole in the bond causing leak and car not bueng air tight. Iv had customers with that problem.

Ps I fit windscreens and other vehicle glass
