Mondeo Estate Mk4 - Aftermarket Towbar Wiring Connection

You dont run the cable to each light bulb/unit. You tap into it loom.

I think it switched sides on the MK4 Right hand rear wing.

Personally i would have bought a dedicated loom for the MK4. Dont want to risk damaging
the CANBUS system.

Where did you buy the towbar from? It should have full instructions telling you which colour wire
on the towbar to connect to which colour wire in the loom.

Power connection also in the rear. But it maybe limited power.

12v power supply = a wire to the battery through a smart charge relay.

No power is supplied to the socket until the cars battery is charging. Easiest option.

Wiring loom is just the bundle of wires that runs to the rear lights.

I did forget you were in AUS, Spotted after i posted

Pointless. Thats 15Amps also. Exactly the same as using the correct 12v towing
power socket.

Looking to see if i can find the real loom stuff.

Not as long as they remember to get the spacers out of the chassis rails.

Sometimes they just pull the bolts out and the spacer falls inside, They only
notice when they cannot torque the bolts up without crushing the chassis rails.

Towbars and sockets are labelled 07 onwards still. No mention of 2012 cars being
different.
