What is P0219 on your code reader? Showing as an engine overspeed condition on mine.

Over revved it? If manual is the clutch slipping? If Auto does it change gear properly?

Check the inlet manifold for excessive oil. If a turbo fails the oil seals can let oil into the

inlet manifold and the engine will actually run on that oil. Its called diesel runaway and

can destroy the engine.

The engine gets faster and faster as more oil leaks into the manifold until it runs our of oil

and seizes or breaks due to the excessive revs.

Does the engine actually rev up near the red line though, or is it an engine speed pickup issue?

P0219 engine over speed, I had the same issue after doing a load of research on the subject I have concluded the following. Lambda sensor bank 1 is the issue. I used a snap on diagnostic tool and found the oxygen sensor is not able to read correct voltage when the engine is de accelerating.
