It's on the BT module page, the part picture is labeled 19A391B.

Yes you can modify your existing plug.

Your current plug is wired 1 to 5 and 2 to 6
satnav plug is wired
1 to 3
2 to 4
5 to 7
6 to 8
good luck.
I need to change the 8pin plug wires in a 2007 Mondeo with nx satnnav with new usb bt module as there is no mic at the moment. Can you please send me the correct new pinout?

At the moment the pinout of plug (6G9T-19A391 BB) is:
1 to 3
2 to 4
5 to 7
6 to 8

Thank you!

my 2010 mondeo zetec was a bit of a shock, after reading this. i have the AUX IN socket, i have bluetooth, i have voice commands. but NO USB!!!! i was gutted! and it seems that my bluetooth unit for the voice controls, aux in etc, is NOT compatible with USB connection so back to making up CDs for the car. bit of a pain though on something so 'up to date' and i really cant justify the costs of changing from the 8m5t 19G xxxxx unit to the 8m5t 19C xxxxxx unit (which is, i believe, what the conversion entails)

Get one from a scrapyard. I bought my module from an online one for ÂŁ45. No need to buy one new from Ford for ÂŁ200+

Hi Artilleryman (please, i can't send you private messages)

As i told in the post, my car is an Ford S-Max, Built January 2008, with BT Voice control, and Sony 6CD.
I retroffited with BLaupunkt NX navi, made AUX wire modification, in order to connect AUX directly to the Novero Module. With that, all worked OK except that when i tried the V2C commands, i can hear the girl, but my orders aren't recognized by the Blaupunkt NX.
I changed mic loop`of only two wires to a new connector of four wires (finis 1474203) with jumpers like that:
Pin 1 connected to Pin 7. Pin 2 Connected to pin 8.
Pin 3 connected to Pin 5. Pin 4 Connected to pin 6.

V2c orders are not recognized.Bluetooth phone calls are perfect.

Also i tried to change pins like this:
Pin 1 connected to Pin 3. Pin 2 Connected to pin 4.
Pin 5 connected to Pin 7. Pin 6 Connected to pin 8.

Result- V2c orders are not recognized. Bluetooth phone calls are perfect.

Probably , my problem is that mic wiring (originally) goes from Mic to V2C Module, and not to Blaupunkt NX which is who does the V2C.
COuld you help me if i have to modify mic wiring and how?
As far as i know i have to connect mic directly to Blaupunkt NX but how? and how i can take the signal out of the Blaupunkt NX to V2C module?

Please, of you could, send me the diagrams, and also i would like to find a pin diagram of the BLaupunkt NX in order to know in which pins i have to study.

Thanks in advance, and best regards

I've had this exact same issue. I swapped out my BT module for a newer one so I could retrofit USB. I then removed my Sony 6CD DAB into and replaced it with the NX Sat Nav unit. Since then, my voice control has been the same as yours, it doesn't "hear" me speak to it.

I too thought it was a wiring issue but I've tried a number of jumpers and have the same issue. After further research I'm now led to believe that the BT module needs the chassis number stored on it to match your car. I believe you can only do this with IDS (on the Focus you can do it with ElmConfig). It's not much of a priority for me so I've left it for now.

Hi fellas

I've joined the Talkford website/forum as a last attempt to get the Bluetooth and voice control working on my 08 Mondeo. I've read loads of posts but none seem to have the exact answer to my problem.

The problem is that the bluetooth almost works as in the stereo displays song details, album name etc but there is no sound from the speakers. The VC doesn't work at all, the stalk brings up 'Voice' on the display but no beep is heard and it doesn't react to my voice no matter what I say!

The details are;

Car - Mondeo 1.8 TDCI Zetec

Build date - April '08

Not Converse+ or Sat Nav.

Sony 6 Disc stereo (not DAB)

Firmware - 05-06-02

Bluetooth module - 8M5T-19C-112AR with usb

Microphone fitted (not sony)

Wiring looms factory fitted

I've even used ELM config to adjust the BCM.

The grey jumper plug behind the glovebox isn't present, could someone please tell me what jumper wires go where on this plug for the stereo/BTmodule shown above?

Also, I think I saw somewhere that the 3.5mm Aux plug wiring requires modification, but all the links to wiring diags on TF are now dead.

Any help would be much appreciated and will save me spending ÂŁ100+ on a Parrot, which I don't want to do as I've just forked out ÂŁ1100+ on a new steering rack, 2 pumps (don't ask!) and a reservoir!!

Many thanks in advance for your help

Steve

The wiring for the microphone is different for the satnav.

The 2 drawings below,
1.show you where you need to cut the microphone wire
2. is how to wire it.

I am assuming that you are using a BT/VC phone interface only module (xxxx-19G488-xx), this has a mono output.

If you are using a BT/VC+USB module (8M5T-19C112-xx) you will need to modify the harness as this uses a stereo input (from AUX to module) and stereo output (module to satnav).

i have 8M5T-19G488-AE and have downgraded from faulty nx to 6000cd and cant get mic working, the 2 files in the thread cant be accessed anymore, could you send me them? cheers

Hi Chaps,

I'd like to upgrade my 2008 Mondeo Zetec so that I can have music on a USB stick. Currently I have the simple single CD stereo, voice control (which works), bluetooth for phone calls, and the usual aux socket in the glovebox. I've taken a look at my BT module in the dashboard, and found that I have an 8M5T-19G488-AK. My understanding from previous posts is that I need to upgrade this to either an AL or AM, and then also probably buy a USB cable and bezel unless the module happens to come with one hanging off.

Can I confirm that a module with USB-connect will work with my simple stereo, subject to me trawling the archives and making the odd other wiring tweak?

I've also found another module behind the glovebox - presumably some kind of carphone given the SIM card. Or perhaps my wife is tracking my travels? Actually... Googling the serial number '1OR022956' results in a lot of hits for Pug Smart-nav systems. Hopefully this won't conflict with my USB aspirations?

Cheers

I'm afraid your stereo don't support music playback from usb, you will need to change on sony.

Hi all,

I'm having an issue with the bluetooth in my car in that A2DP music is choppy / breaks up a bit. It's only started doing it recently so it may be my phone being an arse so I need to do some more investigation. But if I end up having to replace my BT module (do they go bad?) then I need to know which ones are compatible.

My car is a 2010 with all the BT/VC/USB/A2DP/Nav gubbins and everything works nicely so presumably I just need either the same or a newer module? Which ones will be compatible?

Thanks!

The problem you have, is the connection between the BT module and the sat/nav.

What are the full Ford part nos. for the BT module and the sat/nav?
What firmware version is on the sat/nav?

Confirm you have fitted new indicator switch with (voice) push button on the end (and phone symble rocker switch) finis no. 1507180.

Using this :- http://fordwiki.co.uk/index.php/Quadlock_Stereo_Connector_-_Facelift_Mk3
This diagram is from the side where the wires enter the quadlock connecter.

Confirm
BT pin 1 connected to connecter B pin 1
BT pin 2 connected to connecter B pin 7.

If you still have the original Sony h/u re-connect it (MAKE NO CHANGES), try a phone call, what is the result?

NX sat/nav is high. Wiring diagram is DVD-nav upto 03/2008.

You need to get BT working before thinking about USB.

IDS is not necessary as it's all plug and it plays (on the Mondeo).

With the answers to the above, hopefully we can sort this out.
I have just bought a newer BT module for my mk4 Mondeo and have just seen this post by The Artilleryman...

My original BT module is;

Part number: 7S7T-19G488-AE
Strategy : 7S7T-14C350-AE
Calibration: 7S7T-14C351-AB

I have bought 8M5T-19C112-AR - which has the mini-USB socket.

Only after buying it did I stumble on this post and wondered whether anyone knows for sure if I will need to mod the quad-lock cabling on the NX sat nav as mentioned above?

Also I was slightly concerned as the link to fordwiki says its for the Mk3 mondeo - so I didnt know if this is still correct for the Mk4?

Finally - I came across a post on another forum  with details on updating the Ford Audio and USB...

http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/guides-tutorials/14009-ford-audio-bluetooth-usb-firmware-update-november-2012-release-how-update.html

Whilst my car has a build date of 29.01.2008, does anyone know if this update will be applicable on the new BT module I am installing? Looking at the software there seems to be reference to a part number I am not familiar with - 8M5T-14D511-xx

Thanks in advance for any pointers - its just that getting the NX unit out is a pain (yes... done it several times now), so if it needs doing I would rather do the whole mod in one go than have to start, finish and re-start pulling the car apart!

You don't need to touch the quadlock loom. All the cable mods are done on the plug that goes into the bluetooth module.
Yes the update you linked on Digiex is applicable as it updates the software on the Bluetooth module. You need a couple of bits to fit the USB socket in the glove box, I've got a list of them somewhere as I've done the same mod.

Thanks Teamster

I did plug it in tonight and used ELMConfig to reprogram Central Config Page 5 - Bluetooth/Handsfree from its original BT/VC Low setting to BT/VC High+USB+BT Audio - I wrote data back to IPC and BCM modules.

ELMConfig identified the SRM as 8M5T-19C112-AR, but when I tried to connect phone using BT it saw FordAudio but said that the PIN code to pair was incorrect - I tried 0000 00000 and 1234!

Voice Recognition was OK - but I just couldn't get phone to pair and didn't get any additional menu to select USB stick... so I am a bit lost what to do now.

I flashed the original data back after playng... but have now lost the phone address book option on the NX Sat Nav screen - its still showing on the Converse+ in the dash, just missing from NX screen :(

There are so many different threads on this its hard to know what to try - I bought a mini USB to female USB socket which should be fine;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351681891213?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I have also read that I may need to programme the BT/VC module with the VIN number - but not sure on this?!?!

My Coverse+ is old - version 0806... so not sure if this is a reason for the trouble?

Any pointers from here would be greatly appreciated.

OK - quick update... whilst driving to work today I noticed that the address book is back on the NX screen - so this part is not relevant now - just everything else

You need a newer version of the Convers+ software. You've got the original cluster which can only be updated to 8.15 by Ford which does not support bluetooth streaming.
Get in touch with forum member Motral on murphy at yandex.ru (correct the formatting), he has home grown a hybrid version running 11.22 which works fine (I have it), plus visual parking aid and loads of other goodies.
Link to his thread is here.

I had already been following Motral's thread and emailed him yesterday - he has already come back with his price list and I am going to test his software as soon as he sends it over, so hopefully can upgrade Convers+ to 11.22 with his goodies as well.

I'll let you know how I get on :)
