power folding mirror mondeo mk3

hi all i have got a ford mondeo 06 plate ghia tdci when i locked my car up last nite i pressed the switch by the drivers door that folds my mirrors in
now when i got in the car this morning and pressed the switch down again only my drivers side mirror opened out the passenger side stayed in
i assumed it was to do with wiring so have stripped the passenger side door panel of and removed the mirror and checked all the wirin which
seems ok now both mirrors work fine when adjusting them so i wudnt say it was a fuse either any help wud be much appreciated but im
thinking this could be a new mirror motor gone or sumfin ......

Hi mate did you get any joy with this. Having the same issue but mine won't close some times.

Try unplugging the mirror that wont fold in or out. This is better done by disconnecting the door loom at the A frame. Cycle the other mirror until its in the same position as the one that doesnt appear to be working. Reconnect the door loom and try again. If the motor has gone then a replacement mirror is required. Repair isnt that easy as there is a spring under tension held in by a self gripping washer, Undoing that has the same effect as releasing a coil spring without compressors and you wont get the washer back on in a fit state. The mirrors also have a circuit board in them that can burn out, losing the folding option.

if anyone needs some bits i have 3 smashed powerfolds in mi shed with good boards/motors just not sure what sides lol
