Hi, Just need a bit of advice. Took the car to Ford for a service, its a 2010 Focus, Zetec 1.6 thats done 55,000 miles. Was told the rear wheel alignment needed to be checked, as the gap from the tyre to the body on one side was more on one side than the other. Its not much, havent measured it, but it might be about 10mm difference. the car drives lovley, doesn't put to the side, stearing doesn't vibrate, no excessive tyre wear, they checked the tyre depths, and the rear tyres were 4.0 3.5 3.0 and 5.5 5.0 5.5 these tyres were on the car when I bought it 18 months ago, If I felt there was something wrong, I would have got it checked out, but I have had not cause to think the rear wheels have a problem, Are they trying to drum up buissnes or should I take it somewhere to get it checked. Is It 4 wheel lazer alignment I need, and any idea how much it will cost. Thanks for any replies.

Thanks for the reply,It's the gap in front of the wheel, if you see what I mean, behind the sill, not the top of the wheel.

get the tape measure out and measure yourself...

if you do intend spending money on alignment, they say the hunters machines are the best, to find your nearest use the locator in the link: http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/

It's not just about the machine though its about the person using it. I've seen some awful results from wheel alignment not being done right.
There is a company I know that has a hunters machine but when my mate crashed his car they never got it running straight took it somewhere else and all sorted with a bottom arm and track rod end

It would appear from your tyre measurements that one wheel has excess camber and the other has been over inflated slightly. Why not let them do the wheel alignment and ask them to provide a before and after measurement print out?
