ive recently bought a low 65000 mile mk3 tddi 2.0 mondeo but its being a pain trying to work out why it idles and shakes roughly so far i've fitted a new fuel filter and had the injectors tested one of which was siezed so has been rebuilt the injector has improved the problem but still shakes when sat on idle i've bled the system and it will run without cutting out. i have done the dash board diagnostics and it has only brought up a code for low battery voltage nothing else .

It is giving off a small amount of white smoke but nothing excessive has anyone got any ideas?
thanks

mine was rough on idle mate kinda shaked a bit it turned out the dmf needed change along with the starter

have to say good buy on the low mileage tddi

i doubt its dmf at that mileage unless its been ragged to death.

what sort of shake is it can you be more specific?

does it go away when the cars warm?

smoke there at certain times or all the time?

using photobucket 2 ways. click insert media button, looks like 3 photo's and put in the link or just use the email/IM link off photobucket

oh dear that is really bad

i would get the lower rear engine mount off and inspect it. you need to remove it to see the rubber. 2x 15mm bolts easy to remove and refit.

OOOOOH DEAR .. TOTAL ..sounds like snowpatrols c d . and Mark I Think this pooor poster has done a runner .lol... YEA she is a rough engine and sounds like she is missing on a few cylinders . and i wouldent be surprized it it had taken out some bottom mount but thats not the cause of the roughness ono this babe .. its either got at least two bad injectors .. a bent con rod . a broken cam carrier .. or a jumped timing chain .. take your pick of the above but im fairly sure its got some of that and some or mabey more of the other ..but she is a sick motor an needs urgent attention ..of a good mech . and a real good checking out before much money is spent on her .. s

Does sound like its missing every now and then. As well as the running rough.

Check fuel pressure and airleaks, Compression test maybe.

Lost any water?

hello, mine is like this, but its a tdci with 180kmilesi have a elm and wayting for a f super to check the injectors
with the elm i can see when in idling the pressure in the pum is not stable causing this problem the pressure is between 170 and 240bar

edit: forget to tell that the error p0251 is present and limp mode is in every travel, also sometimes the engine cuts completely and need to restart

can anyone help me with this problem
thanks and regards

its like this at idle but if you increase the revs it runs smooth i've got no real history with the car but know that it was an ex demo from ford that was purchased by my neighbours mother who then gave it to my neighbour. When i had the one injector rebuilt it seems like the roughness is not as bad as before i'm wondering if the other three should get the same treatment . Car is not being used at the minute so is off the road until the problem is sorted out.

It wont.. The F-Super is just a code reader. It wont detect injector faults as such.

On your TDDI it wont even tell you the fuel rail pressure because you dont have one.

F-Super very limited on a TDDI.

it is limited yes but it gives you 85% of the readings on live data, read and erase all codes. and obviously it wont code injectors as they are mechanical as we know

if you got instructions should be easy enough

use all the buttons on the left (apart from the bottom one which is for injector coding and is n/a for your car) read codes erase them and re read them

you may find some codes on there that are old see so read erase read is the best thing to do

i would be checking the battery voltage although it may not affect the engine that or something to do with the injectors.

its worth recording some live data at different rpm's you can use cam studio like i did
