tddi & tdci rear egr delete kit fitted

ok so now the kit is done!!!

big thanks to shaun at racebits for developing this and fitting mine

great result no more slight hesitation which is obviously the egr as its totally dissapeared! lots more top end grunt and the turbo is there straight away! bear in mind i have a FIXED VANE TURBO with a modified pipe so results may vary on the variable vaned turbo (with maf sensor on the airbox).

heres the pictures same applies to both tddi and tdci rear egr. pipes may vary but only slightly.

no mate you got a front egr thats if the 6 speed 130 listed under your nick is the one your talking about.

the templates are going off to get more made.

the plate you see pictured will be the same as my plate its just you will have another plate to put in at the front egr

i am on it though pushing racebits to get on with it and now mines done i know its different but we at least know what we are up against for the tdci front egr

i got your pm so once theyre ready ill send you a message i have to do the same with someone other people too

mk3_turbo - shaun at racebits did not develop this - i (mk3_turbo) did - totalguy/racebits spotted pictures of this mod i had done and copied it

mk3_turbo - i know - i found this when i did this years ago!

mk3_turbo - i am very dissapointed that totalguy/ racebits are taking the credit for my idea - not even a thanks or any sort of recognition!

mk3_turbo - picture shows the prototype/ original - identical to "racebits egr delete" as fitted to my car years ago / before - its been on the car so long its become rusty!

excuse me racebits DEVELOPED the kit! i didnt say they or i had the idea. the development is for the kit not the idea

and if you r emember i discussed with you in pm and thanked you for your help with some measurements although they didnt help me very much but it was a start.

i had to do a lot of measurements myself as the idea was not to butcher the orignial pipework but to develop a kit to replace it and do everything to a proffesional standard.

yes i may have used your idea but i did tell you some time ago i had this idea before you even showed your pictures.

so infact i used your idea but racebits developed the kit professionally to do this.

also the pipework is top drawer much better than original rubber so its an upgrade and a strong one too

its not identical either i can tell you the pipework is different diameter even though its the same positioning the diameters of the pipe between the top and bottom are definitely different to yours for a start the elbow is 2 diameters

Mk3_turbo no offence mate, but Darrell has been saying he was going to do this mod from when I met him at ford fair last year from what I can remember.

Plus racebits have been developing this item and testing it for a while too.

Maybe your untreated steel pipe rusted quite quick like my brake discs do in rainy weather??

The reason the pipe is rusty is because it has been on my car for years i "developed" it (years ago) - TG/ "race bits" copied my idea - - TG spotted my pictures/ design in , EGR ... Vacuum pipe or blanking plate, that is the question!"

i don't think TG disputes i did it first, when he saw my design he realised how to do the "EGR delete/ modified turbo hoses", if he had not seen my design he would have probably still been talking about it/ wondering how to do it/ wondering if it would work/ how he could get it to work -

There is a very big difference between thinking/ talking about doing something and actually doing it - i thought of it first, fitted it, tested it, "developed" it, ran it, now my idea has ben copied and no mention of me (mk3_turbo) is made-

matt- if you had thought of this, "developed" it, fitted it on your car, and have somone else get the credit for it (and sell it) after copyiing your design, how would you feel?

i could understand mate but your on a forum showing mods you make if you didnt want anyone to copy then why show and tell people

this is why there is patent laws....

now as for someone selling it unless there is a patent in place then its free for anyone to patent it and sell it as for me i could never make it and i have my name down for one but i have my name for one as its cheaper than replacing the egr just for it to cock up again in a few years time

Its only a MK3 egr pipe not talking a million pound ferarri deal. I work on lots of race cars and have developed parts for many companies, 90% of the time no one knows my involvement on these projects. I have always brought the best mods possible to people at the best prices. With TG's input I made a kit to suit his needs that can be produced for other members to gain from this mod at an affordable price as well. This is not even a kit I going to openly advertise but will be an exclusive to TG, Talkford and STdrivers members.

The parts are of high grade triple layered silicone and not hacksaw'd existing ford parts, and wont rust either.

The "hard sell" is unnessesary and inappropriate (in my opinion)

If you "have developed parts for many companies" - why did you have to copy >>>my<<< design- could you not have thought of your own?

We are not talking about the other things you do, we are talking about >>>my<<< design for an EGR delete/ turbo hose upgrade which TG/ you have copied

The pipes/ hoses follow my design exactly (which is tottaly different to the original/ ford route) it is academic (it does not matter) what color they are/ if they are steel/ alloy or silicone / rubber or modified ford parts - the shape /route is the same

You can see it from my pictures (which predate TGs/ yours) - i thought of it first / i did it first (some time ago)

It makes no difference if it is a million pound Ferrari deal, a name or an idea - it is the principal of the thing

You or TG did not develop this one >>> i <<< did - mk3_turbo

I read the other day the front pipe can split if you block the TDCI front mounted EGR, How common is that?

If you block it from the rear will the EGR cooler be at risk?

- A - I don't think it is the cause of the pipe splitting (that would be the realative movement of engine/ chassis) - the lower temps (of the EGR being blocked) would probably help pipe longevity

- A - No, the opposite - (there is less weight/ mechanical stress on it) i have had mine blocked here (as you now know) for a very long time with no problems

This is getting stupid now. This is a mod that has 3 ports lets call them A,B,C. Simply bock C, then join A and B together, now the simplest and cheapest to do this as direct as possible.

But since being accused of copying we will be changing the kit, will now feature an S bend from bottom port and be conncted to an S bend at the top, this will bring the whole kit forward.

Unfortunately this will raise the cost as twice as many parts are being used so price will now have to be doubled.

lol

get a grip mk3 turbo. its an egr blank. people have been blankin egr since they were even thought up. its hardly an exclusive idea that u own. And like had already been said u r posting pictures of it. im just glad i blanked mine off at the manifold and didnt fit a new intercooler pipe or u wud b accusing me of copying.

i bet the guy that invented the wheel is gutted too.

What is there to resolve ?

People have done similar/same mods as me that I was the first to do, and instead of having a moan I've helped and advised people on how to do the mods. People wanted this mod so I designed it as cheaply and in the best way possible. We have all new elbows and couplers triple layered silicone available in blue or red, and not cut the Ford pipework like yourself so there is another benefit and difference.

My margin is so small on this hence why won't be openly selling, doing this as a favour for TG to have it on his car, and so can pass on the kit at virtually cost to members. Hence why I stated keeping this as a Talkford and STdrivers exclusive, not even going to list on my site.

Pricing on the kit is virtually as follows:
ÂŁ10 silicone elbow and coupler
ÂŁ 7 for the pipe
ÂŁ 2 for jubilee clipes X4
ÂŁ 5 for blanking plate

As well as my time for cutting the pipe and the time taken as well as materials to post out.

omg wtf!!

firstly mk3_turbo you didnt develop THE KIT!! i already explained this to you so why you going on and on about it? i tried to be nice but your not even listening/reading properly.

ill say it once again RACEBITS DEVELOPED THE KIT NOT THE IDEA.

all you did was chop up the existing pipework and bodge in a piece of pipe.

finally ive had enough of this so im reporting you for disrupting this thread. i was polite to begin with but you havent even listened.

to my knowledge i have been the first using this ( my ) Design of the EGR blanking plate now for 6>7 years that totally removed all Pipe work and EGR ... did you copy me ?

Nope .. its common knowledge to make an item such as this

if you didn't market it then that's your fault for not doing so
Shaun and Darrel just picked up where u didn't and making a go at it .. there with in there right to as you have no copyright/patten

Just glad to of found someone that has already done this longer ago. Have noticed a few other people have done this mod as well but as far as I can tell Mark you are the first with those dates

Might come myself depending on what car I can get my hands on. Suppoosed to be at another shop trading but if can get something nice will come along.

Have to see if can get the twin charged 650BHP scooby or the evo 8 I supplying parts on with hopefully 600BHP

Always used to be a scooby hater, prefered the EVO. But the scooby is an amazing engine. Weak link though is the box.

Looking at another scooby after, as is standard just want a standard one to mildly tweek. to tow with

...but when this debate was first aired, couldn't you have just replied with "oh yea sorry mate, I'll correct it....shaun developed an idea originally devised by mk3_turbo" ?
It might just have worked, I don't feel that he was after anymore than that myself....it's nice to get a mention, especially when you've helped

end of the day mk3_turbo bodged his setup to make it work like that, shaun developed the kit with my help. the only thing mk3 told me about measurements wise was one of the pipe diameters i prob still have it in pm and it was wrong and i didnt have any lengths or change of sizes so i had my pipes measured to then decide how to go about making the kit.

anyway no offence to you i see your point but i feel like a parrot i think ive said this 3 times now
