Hello,

I am wondering if you can please help me, I have a Ford Focus Zetec 2000, 2L Mark one

The traction control & ABS light has been on for some while now constantly, I noticed the other day when parked nose up on a hill that when I started the engine the lights were not on, but as soon as I straightened up the lights came straight back on. I have checked the brake fluid level and it is fine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.......

Thanks :)

Possible Causes are (from bad to good order)

ABS module (uncommon, but can happen)

Wheel Bearing - They have a magnetic ring on the inner side (driveshaft side) that can become detached from the bearing, fooling the system into thinking you have a lock up.

ABS sensor - Easy enough to swap, just soak the securing nut / screw in WD40 well before hand

ABS Wiring Plug - goes brittle and loosens - Replace wiring assy (short loom) with a good one

Fuse blown

Hope that helps
